Initto conducts maiden employee survey with Hay Group

The lifeline of any organization is its people. If employees are happy, productivity will be at its best. Experience has taught us that an organisation producing $10 billion per annum can increase its productivity by 30% by simply creating a supportive work atmosphere. Hence, to make our operations and services more employee-centric, we recently partnered with the Hay Group to conduct our first employee engagement survey. All the employees of Initto took part in the online survey from January 12 to January 27.
HAY Group is a global leader in employee opinion research for the past 35 years. Established in 1975 in Philadelphia, the organization has 88 offices, with approximately 2,600 employees, in 47 countries. Hay Group has assisted over 10,000 clients survey millions of respondents, creating one of the world’s largest database of employee opinion that covers over 20 major industry groups and 40 countries.
Over the years, Hay Group has been an insightful partner to several complex organizations such as Barclays Regional, Deutsche Bank, Bombardier Inc Global, Walt Disney, MetLife Global, Mattel Global, National Australia Bank Global, Renault Global, Vodafone, Nissan and Nestle Global. The company’s USP lies in their thoroughly researched and validated survey tools that can measure an employee’s entire life cycle; secure web-based survey administration tools in multiple languages; rapid results, powerful reporting tools for senior executives and line managers and action planning tools and support from training workshops.

Hay Group taught us six basic rules to achieve successful engagement of employees. Ensure that there is a clearly communicated link between performance and rewards within the organization; make a proper differentiation in performance ratings between employees; root out bad business practices such as unnecessary work and duplication that can adversely affect employee morale; appoint the right people in the right job; monitor and improve the work culture by ensuring that the leaders have the ability to motivate employees and lastly, focus on non-monetary rewards such as awards and recognition

It was not that simple though. Every organization has its individual requirements and quirks and we, too, had ours. Hay Group took care of all that with their flexible research framework that provided a 360 degree perspective on employees and organisational effectiveness.

The survey was an exhaustive process, with a meticulous four-stage method followed. In the first stage, a project governance team was set up. Then, the project was finalized with the management, which included agreeing on the scope, commercials and timelines. Separate templates were created for the employees, HR and leadership teams. With the pre-survey work done, a half-day workshop for stakeholders, management and HR team was held in the second stage to explain the need and benefits of the survey.

In the third stage, Hay Group launched the project by sending an e-mail communication to all the employees. Every day, the responses were tracked. At the end of the survey, all the responses were collated, validated and then presented before the project governance team. In the last stage, the report was analysed. Two half-day workshops on action planning were held with the senior leadership team and the managers, where Hay Group recommended business critical development areas.
The survey was an enriching exercise. We now plan a full-day action planning workshop to make Initto a better place for employees. Watch this space for more news.

Leadership meet - A milestone in Initto’s growth story

December began on an exciting note. We held our first leadership meet, “Creating An Alignment To Deliver Long-Term Success”, at Neemrana Fort Resort from December 1 to 3 and came back recharged, with refreshing ideas to boost Initto’s growth.

We invited different departments to share their achievements/challenges from last year; team structuring/restructuring if any and quarter-wise strategies for the coming year.
Day One, however, was reserved for fun activities. After a few hours of team building tasks, we let our hair down over dinner and cocktail, with Rajasthani fold dance and music for entertainment.

The next day started with an opening speech by our CEO, Niels Liest, followed by an organizational overview, which included a discussion on our budget, business update and rate card for next year, by our COO, Deepak Gupta. Then came the turn of our departments to present their achievements for the year and the future plans. The sessions highlighted the team’s vision for the company, the challenges they faced in achieving that vision and a roadmap for the future. The day ended with a Bollywood-themed party, complete with delicious food and interesting cocktails.

The last day of the meet was reserved for discussing HR issues that affect day-day functioning of a company by Mahendra Pratap Singh. The sessions were divided into Environment, wherein current issues were discussed and proposed solutions given; Attrition/Retention, wherein latest attrition trends were analysed; Bench Utilisation, wherein past data was analysed and future plans were chalked out for more effective utilisation of information and Recruitment and Training, wherein the challenges were discussed and solutions roposed. A session was devoted to lessons learnt from Best Practice and domain initiatives taken. Parivartan, a concept on Idea Lab was also discussed.

After a sumptuous lunch, we did a Flying Fox. Then we all headed back to Delhi refreshed, our minds brimming with ideas. The meet would remain a milestone in Initto’s growth map as it covered a gamut of operations, right from our achievements, including the challenges faced on the way, to our future course of action.

Here’s to Initto’s growth!

Initto- The New Captive Inspiration for Markets!

Initto company profile
Established in 2003, we are a global IT services provider with a strong Danish foundation. We provide a wide range of customized IT services, product engineering solutions and consulting to clients worldwide. By specializing in these three service offerings, we give our clients access to specialists, thereby enabling them to focus on their core competencies. This also gives them quality time for innovation and value creation.

A brief history
In 2003, KRING Development A/S merged with the Danish-Indian company, ContinuumIT and became Kring Technologies A/S in Denmark and KRING India Pvt Ltd in India . Before 2003, KRING Development A/S developed e-business solutions for several established Danish customers, while ContinuumIT´s core competence was development of software applications through its offshore location, and the company had clients in both Europe and the USA.
The two companies, therefore, complemented each other - KRING Development having a strong presence in the local market and ContinuumIT, with its offshore development center and clientele around the world, providing a global perspective to the partnership.
In 2005, KRING Technologies entered into a joint venture with a major American client in India. That same year, KRING also established partnerships in Ukraine with two different companies, and as a result KRING was established in Ukraine as an independent company - KRING Eastern and Central Europe – in 2006.
In September 2008, KRING Technologies changed its name to Initto. The name change marked the completion of an extensive reorganization of the company and strengthening of processes. It was also a step towards fulfillment of its objective of becoming the most efficient software provider in the market.
In November 2009, Initto teamed up with Saxo Bank to support and speed up the development and strengthening of the latter’s trade systems. By July 2010, Saxo Bank bought all Initto’s stocks, thus owning the company entirely and making it the bank’s 100% subsidiary.
